There is little that is bad to say about this hotel, as long as you are not looking for a lot of typical amenities. He takes pride in his hotel and really makes you feel like appreciated.… Also, the owner, Jesus was very friendly and helpful with anything I needed. The marina is just a couple blocks away, and a little further walk to Medano beach, but there is so much to see and buy as you walk. I always felt safe, and with the busy nightlife around the corner, I never had any problems. When I travel, I love to see the people and how they live and you definitely will get that if you stay at Maria Elena. You literally walk down the street to the corner (pretty busy area) and can find plenty of food, and neighborhood sightseeing. Finally, I stumbled upon Maria Elena and was pleased with my stay. I did a very last-minute trip the week of March 16, 2014.The big hotels on the Marina were pretty much all booked. Most rooms have been remodeled so they have a modern feel and most importantly, clean. Maria Elena was really at the center of all of the nightlife and shopping in Cabo. Best of all, Jesus, the owner, provided excellent customer service. I was worried because I got such a deal, but it was definitely worth it. It is half a block from the main strip, but far enough so it wasn't noisy.
There is no elevator though so great way to exercise by doing the stairs. The room was very clean and the housekeeping staff was very friendly. A fridge in the room was nice for storing cold drinks. It was remodelled with new furniture, a large shower and good sized tv. We got the room that was exactly as photographed on.
This hotel was way beyond my expectations.
